A big influence in West Coast and latin hiphop is the talkbox. Made famous by artists like Peter Frampton and Ohio-raised Roger Troutman of Zapp, the talkbox and synthesizer has become a staple in west coast funk and hip-hop. Fortunately it’s being kept alive by artists like Miss Lady Magic.
