Renta Flores is a 22 year old Peruvian rapper who has been making major waves across Latin America. Renta raps in the indigenous Incan language, Quechua. Over 10 million people still speak the language but it’s rare to hear in pop culture; especially in hip-hop.

She became curious about the language when she was 14 and began studying. But she didn’t start rapping in Quechua until she noticed her peers being embarrassed to speak it.
